Speakers
Chair – Peter McKenna
Peter McKenna is chair of the Law Society Technology Committee and partner in McKenna Durcan.
Peter is a commercial law practitioner specialising in employment law, with nearly two decades of experience advising both employers and employees on complex issues related to termination of employment, discrimination, and workplace harassment, leveraging his unique perspective from representing both sides. Peter regularly advises on workplace policies related to technology use and assisting companies navigate the digital landscape while maintaining legal compliance.
Charlie Carroll
Charlie Carroll is a partner in A&L Goodbody’s Corporate and M&A group, with a focus on equity capital markets, private company transactional and corporate finance related work in addition to commercial, contractual and corporate governance matters across a range of sectors.
Charlie is also the Head of ALG Solutions, which harnesses technology to deliver cost-effective legal solutions in complex transactional, regulatory and investigation matters across a broad range of business and legal challenges.
Dr Janis Wong
Dr Janis Wong is a Data & Technology Law Policy Advisor at The Law Society, leading on regulatory, digital, and policy developments across data, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and technology to support the legal profession in England and Wales including the organisation’s published guidance on generative AI.
She is currently on the RED Foundation Data Ethics Steering Group and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Alan Turing Institute, and a Research Fellow at the Open Data Institute.
