An Architectural Technology and Design Information Meeting at DFEi is taking place at 3pm-4pm on Wednesday 1st June 2022.

This is a great chance to come and meet the DFEi teachers and staff and learn more about how Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute can help you achieve your goals.


Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute (DFEi) offer a wide range of full-time Further Education and Training and Evening courses including adult education and lifelong learning in Dun Laoghaire, South Co Dublin

Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute offer a wide range of Further Education and Training Courses such as full-time PLC, apprenticeship and BTEI. These courses offer excellent progression to third-level colleges in Ireland and the UK or direct employment opportunities. Full awards are both nationally and internationally recognised through the National Framework of Qualifications (www.nfq.ie)

Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute also delivers a comprehensive programme of evening classes that lead to awards such as a full QQI Awards in Childcare or a single QQI Module in Radio, Photography, and Payroll. DFEi also offers adult education and lifelong learning opportunities though art, beauty, computing, DIY and media courses. In addition hobby (personal interest) courses are also provided. Some examples of the courses on offer are: Languages (Italian and Spanish), Job-Seeking, Silk Painting, Stock Market Investment, Woodwork, Public Relations, First Aid, Creative Writing, Bicycle Maintenance, Dog Grooming, and Dressmaking.

In 1975 A Community College was opened in Cumberland Street under the statutory authority of Dun Laoghaire Vocational Education Committee. The name of the college has changed a few times, but the high standards has always been maintained. In July 2013 Dun Laoghaire VEC merged with County Dublin VEC to form the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board.

Classes run from September to December and from January to April on a Monday and Tuesday Night. As a non-profit organisation, Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute DFEi only charges the minimum fee necessary to cover costs.
