ATU & Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) invite applications for the BA (Hons) in Jewellery & Goldsmithing starting September 2024 in DCCI’s Academy Jewellery School in Sessions House, Thomastown, Kilkenny.

The aim of the programme is to promote a broad approach to jewellery and goldsmithing creation and design.
Drawing on the traditions of craftsmanship, it combines a forward-thinking approach to designing and making in metals with the opportunity to explore a wide range of materials, processes, and techniques, placing importance on the acquisition of both hand and digital fabrication skills. Learners will develop practical skills, critical judgment, and professional confidence through designing and making.
Learning through making with a range of materials and processes equips learners with the confidence, knowledge, and flexibility to take risks and to redefine approaches to jewellery and goldsmithing.
Working in a stimulating creative environment where innovation and excellence are encouraged, the programme enables learners to develop their own interests and distinctive creative direction within a structured academic framework and constructive earning environment.

The Mayo Campus of Atlantic Technological University opened its doors to students back in 1994 and now offers modern facilities and services for both students and staff. Courses in Nursing, Business, Sciences, Tech among others are the main focus at the Mayo Campus. The National Centre for Excellence in Furniture Design and Technology is located in North-West Connamara at ATU’s Letterfrack Campus. The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology was the first institute in Ireland to house a agricultural college, originally set up by the Franciscan Brothers in 1904. Today students at Mountbellow have the choice between two degrees on the campus – Rural Enterprise & Agribusiness or Agriculture & Environmental Management.
