Boston Scientific has been announced as the main sponsors of the Jobs Expo which is taking place 16th February 2019, at the Galway Races.

Who are Boston Scientific?

First established in Ireland in 1994, Boston Scientific has grown to be the largest medical device employer in Ireland. Through its 3 Irish sites – located in Clonmel, Cork, and Galway – the company exports approximately 10 million medical devices worldwide annually, including stents, balloons, platinum coils, catheters, inflation devices, pacemakers and ICDs. The Irish manufacturing operation is an integral part of the corporations manufacturing strategy and capability. They employ 25,000 people and are a global leader in the development of less-invasive medical devices

Boston Scientific in Galway

The Boston Scientific Galway site, located very close to the Galway Races, is the largest Boston Scientific facility in Ireland, and the largest manufacturing facility in Boston Scientific’s global plant network. It was established in 1994 as a manufacturing and R&D facility and this extensive operation uses over 50 leading edge manufacturing technologies and the site has expanded its capability in the last decade to include areas such as new product development, regulatory affairs, and analytical laboratory testing. It is one of the company’s centres of excellence for the development of Drug Eluting Stent products and has also played a central role in developing products to treat endovascular and gastroenterological diseases

Jobs Expo Seminars

Throughout the course of the day, experts, advisors and employers will give a host of free seminars designed to kick-start your career. Sinead Meaney will be sharing her experiences working for prominent MedTech Multinational, Boston Scientific; Aggie Pulfer from Your Career Coach will be giving advice on how to successfully change industries. EssentialSkillz’s Fidelma Wallace will be sharing her top tips for interviews in the tech sector. Meanwhile, over at the Google Digital Garage, Emma Gribben will be on hand delivering a technical and practical guide for anyone thinking for applying for a job.
