‘Early Medieval Ireland: Continuity and Change’
This is a period of profound change. A new religion is introduced bringing in its wake writing, a new language and membership of an international organisation. Later the arrival of the Vikings brings the creation of towns and links into a wide and expanding trading network. This lecture will give an overview of these events and consider how society adopted.
