Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) has launched a suite of new postgraduate courses in Applied Leadership and Management which will commence online delivery from the GMIT Mayo campus from January (2021).
The three courses, Certificate in Applied Leadership and Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Leadership and Management, and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Applied Leadership and Management in Health, Social Care and the Public Sector, have been developed to meet the skills needs of the Health, Social Care & Public Sector.
Postgraduate Courses in Applied Leadership and Management
Justin Kerr, Head of Department of Nursing, Health Science and Social Care at GMIT Mayo, says: “These programmes have been developed in response to a regional need to support and develop leaders and managers within the public sector. We have listened carefully to employers and as a result the programmes are applied to the workplace and focused on real results.”
Programme Chair Clodagh Geraghty adds: “The courses have been designed in response to a skills need in line with national strategies for the development of leadership capacity in the health, social care and public sector.”
“The courses were developed by academic staff in the Nursing, Health Science and Social Care Department, and are multidisciplinary in delivery and application. Onsite inductions are planned to take place on the Mayo Campus on 20 January, 2021, in strict compliance with public health guidelines.”
The courses will be delivered online from January to May 2021 due to the continuing public health pandemic and will be delivered in a blended format (onsite and online) from September 2021.
