There is still time for you to send in your views on the new Student Engagement in Decision-Making Framework.

The National Student Engagement Programme invite you to take part in Framework – Discussion Paper Consultation Questionnaire.

Take part

This form is for any staff member, student, institution, or organisation in Irish third-level education who may wish to submit a written response to the recently published discussion paper by the National Student Engagement Programme (NStEP) entitled ‘The Path to a New National Approach to Student Engagement in Decision-Making’.

The aim of the discussion paper is to set out a new framework for student engagement in decision-making. Key changes include a set of statements on some core concepts, including our understanding of student engagement.

Another important change was the revision of the 10 Principles of Student Engagement – the paper proposes five new principles. It is encouraged that you read the discussion paper as thoroughly as possible before providing a written submission.

The National Student Engagement Programme are also offering short collaborative workshops to staff and students. These will be opportunities for NStEP to gather views on the draft framework, as well as to provide a forum for discussion on student engagement within an institution. The workshops are not simply designed to be consultative, but rather to be beneficial to all who partake in them.

If you have any queries about providing a questionnaire submission and/or organising a workshop, please contact Oisín Hassan at [email protected]

When submitting a questionnaire response to the discussion paper please note that NStEP may publish a list of the names of the individuals, organisations, or institutions that respond.

The National Student Engagement Programme will not publish any views submitted without explicit consent to do so. Responses will be accepted until 1st March 2021.
