The Open Training College (OTC) is offering huge savings on two popular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.

As we all approach the ‘next normal’ of working together in the sector, the OTC has discounted some popular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses in order to support colleagues.

The OTC believes that upskilling staff and managers is paramount for the successful delivery of services going forward and has discounted the following CPD courses to make them more accessible to all managers and staff who are passionate about delivering state of the art services.

The Manager as Coach and Mentor – Level 7 –  €395 €99* – starts Nov 16th, 2020

Supporting and Working with Families – Level 7 – €395 €99* – starts Jan 4th, 2021

The participant can access the online course materials, complete the assessment online, receive an OTC Certificate, and all for a discounted price of only €99.

*Participants may also wish to be registered with QQI and will therefore receive an actual QQI Certificate (worth 10/15 ECTS Credits), upon successful completion of the course. The QQI registration is optional and requires an additional payment of €50.

  • Makes a constructive contribution to policy and professional practice
  • Offers positive outcomes for service users by encouraging best-practice person-centred processes and competencies

At the Open Training College, our degree level and professional development courses and programmes provide disability and social care professionals with the skills required to deliver effective person centred services. Our accredited certificate, degree and professional development courses and programmes provide people with the knowledge and skills required to manage effectively in a challenging environment. The Open Training College has spent over 20 years working as training experts. In that role we have combined extensive first-line experience with a detailed knowledge of the strategic and operational dynamics of the space.

Established by St. Michael’s House in 1992, our philosophy is, and always will be, shaped by the demands of our sector and the needs of our staff, students, client organisations and service users. We believe that everything we do has to make a difference. To achieve that, it:

  • Must be sector-specific
  • Has to be practical in every sense of that word
  • Remain relevant and meet the highest possible standards of professional practice
  • Reflect the realities of people’s lives

This commitment has driven our desire to create a community of learning and professional practice, one that focuses on the acquisition, dissemination and practical application of knowledge and expertise.

We believe that this approach – built on collaboration between ourselves, our students and the more than 220 organisations we work with – has created a unique environment in which people from the human services and non-profit sector can learn and work together in ways that make a real difference to our service users.  It has driven:
  • Who we are
  • Our relationship with students and the courses we provide
  • The kind of consultancy services and partnerships we have built up over the last quarter century
