This year’s SciFest National Final will take place from Thursday 19 November to Saturday 21 November. SciFest 2020 National Final goes virtual this year and welcomes not only students, teachers and parents to this inspiring showcase of young people’s research but also, for the first time, the general public.
At the National Final, qualifying award winners from the 16 regional SciFest STEM fairs will compete for a range of valuable prizes, including the opportunity to represent Ireland at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The event will also include special competitions for the selected winners of the Boston Scientific Medical Devices Award and of the Specsavers Making a Difference Award at the regional fairs.

Viewing of Finalists Projects
Monday 16 November – Friday 27 November: The platform will be live providing an opportunity for the public to view the finalists’ projects, vote for their favourite project and test their scientific knowledge in daily competitions.

SciFest is Ireland’s largest second level STEM fair programme. Now in its 15th year, over 12,000 students engaged with the programme in 2020. The programme is implemented locally in schools and regionally in 16 third-level colleges from where winning projects progress to the National Final. Awards at the National Final include participation in international events in Europe and the United States.
The SciFest programme is funded primarily by Science Foundation Ireland, Boston Scientific, Intel and Specsavers.
