The Higher Education Authority, NUI Galway, LaunchPad and BioInnovate Ireland are running The Inventioneers, an online camp which aims to engage, encourage and nurture entrepreneurial ideas in Ireland’s second level student population.
LaunchPad is a campus-based entrepreneurship programme at NUI Galway.
BioInnovate Ireland is an innovation hub educating the next generation of healthcare visionaries and entrepreneurs to positively impact lives everywhere.
The Inventioneers
The virtual camp will run from 8 – 11 June 2021.
Participation in the online camp is structured using a fusion of presentations, 3rd level student experiences, design thinking and prototype development. The NUI Galway course focuses on developing an innovation solution to help combat climate change.
The 4 day camp is for 4 hrs per day for students and is free to attend. Students must be in transition year and the senior cycle of 2nd level education. The camp begins each day at 10 am and finishes at 3 pm.
During the camp, students will be placed in teams of five, identify a climate related problem, develop and video pitch their own solution.
The winning video will receive a new IPad (8th Generation).
The camp will be delivered by LaunchPad, BioInnovate Ireland and NUI Galway students.
Students can apply as a team of 5 or individually. The camp is open to Transition Year and Senior Cycle Students only. Students can register as a team of 5 or individually.
