This free COVID 19 online ‘Return to Work’ course is organised by UCC Adult Continuing Education Lecturers James O’Herlihy and Belinda Gascoigne will take place over a number of dates in line with the Phased Roadmap for reopening society and business.

Covid-19 has fundamentally changed how all industries will need to operate for the coming 12-18 months.
All industries must be prepared to return to work taking Covid-19 / Social Distancing into account as the way forward. Work is a key part of life and most of us want to return to our jobs as soon as possible. But we need to get back to work safely.
This training module is a compilation of the key guidance notes and new standard operating procedures which must be put in-place to ensure social distancing can be maintained
The attached Return to Work Safely training modules key aim is to put measures in place that will prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace when the economy begins to slowly opens up, following the temporary closure of most businesses during the worst phase of the current pandemic
Phase 2 Sectors SME Sector /Retail
Business – in particular the SME sector – is a central component of all communities in Ireland, the safe reopening of SME businesses is crucial to the wellbeing of our society and our people. The Return to Work Safely key aim is to put measures in place that will prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace while adhering to social distancing small to medium sized businesses.
Date: Thursday 28th May 11am -1pm
Closing date for application is Tuesday 26th May
Phase 3 Sectors and Pharmaceutical Industry
Concentrates on sectors and societal activities are defined in Phase 3 including transport and smaller hospitality sectors. Pharmaceutical companies during the Covid-19 pandemic are only allowing essential key workers to site daily. With the use of technology over 70% of staff are working from home on a temporary basis but will return to work over the next few months. The Return to Work Safely key aim is to put measures in place that will prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace while adhering to social distancing.

Phase 4 Sectors including Hospitality Sector/ Service Industry
Ireland’s tourism and hospitality industry has been decimated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This crisis is affecting every tourism business in the country and the road ahead is uncertain, all staff will need to be retained to ensure they can maintain social distancing while still providing a service . The Return to Work Safely key aim is to put measures in place that will prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace while adhering to social distancing within the hospitality sector.

Phase 5 Sectors and Education Sector
All education sectors have been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this guidance training module provides key messages and considerations for engaging school administrators, teachers and staff, in promoting a safe and healthy work location.
