Courses That Award: Higher Diploma
A Higher Diploma is Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications. A course of this type usually lasts for a year. The majority of students who study for a Higher Diploma, already have an Honours Bachelor Degree; although, holders of Ordinary Bachelor Degrees are still able to do a Higher Diploma. In most cases, the Higher Diploma is in a different subject than the initial qualification. Institutes of Technology, QQI and Universities are all places where a student might study for a Higher Diploma.
