Easy to Learn breads, savoury and sweets items for the home baker.
Week 1: Sausage/Veggie Rolls and Jambons
Week 2: Buttermilk Soda Bread & Scones
Week 3: Double Chocolate Banoffee pie, using biscuit base.
Week 4: Quiches & Samosas, using filo pastry
Week 5: Profiteroles & Eclairs using choux pastry
Week 6: Pasties and Empanadas using shortcrust pastry
Week 7: Swiss-roll with fresh lemon curd, using Victoria sponge
Week 8: Home-made Indian breads, Naan & Roti
Week 9: The breakfast twist, A fancy breakfast roll
Week 10: Class choice E.g., Jam doughnuts, Bagels, Dinner Rolls
Notes:
· Menu is subject to change according to availability of ingredients. All recipes can be made suitable for vegetarians.
· Students cook in pairs- This is a fantastic way to meet new people & make new friends.
· Please bring along a Tea Towel, sharp paring knife, a cloth and 2 large lunch boxes to bring food home in after.
· Cookery lesson begins at 7.00pm. It is recommended (not obligatory) that students arrive approx. 5-10 mins early to collect and weigh ingredients.
· Tidy up at the end of class is essential. The kitchen needs to be left spotlessly clean and everything put back in its correct place. Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation in leaving the room in good order for the next class.
