Parliamentary Questions (PQs) play an important role in Irish democracy as one of the principal methods by which members of D il ireann seek to hold Government to account. Through PQs, Teachta D la (TDs) can elicit information from a Minister on policy and operational issues affecting their Department and, in the case of oral PQs, further question the Minister on aspects of his or her response.
