Course Outline
The UCC CUBS Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management (Level 9) provides you with the balance of technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills that maximise the impact of project managers in private, public, and not-for-profit organisations.
The course provides you with the skills, capabilities, and knowledge to initiate, plan, execute, and monitor projects – achieving your objectives within organisational and environmental constraints. This one-year, part-time, hybrid course is unique to the marketplace. It is delivered in conjunction with our industry partner, Velopi, and provides you with an internationally recognised academic qualification from a leading, accredited global academic institution. In addition, the course also prepares you for professional accreditation in project management.
This course is designed for those wishing to formalise their project management qualifications and to further develop their project management career. Students are exposed to cutting-edge research, critical thinking, and toolsets. It also provides a balance of technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills that maximises the impact of project managers in private, public, and not-for-profit organisations. Upon graduation, participants will achieve a highly prestigious sought-after academic qualification plus the knowledge and skills to undertake the project management professional (PMP) exams from the Project Management Institute.

Course Time | Classes are scheduled to run one night per week (online) and for a full day on Friday (in-person), typically once a month from September to May each year (full timetable provided in advance). Online seminars and activities are also utilised. Assessment Assessment is through a variety of continuous assessment methods including individual and group projects, presentations, etc. |

Entry Requirements | Applications are invited from experienced professionals with: Second Class Honours Grade II in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) or equivalent (e.g. Higher Diploma) AND At least 2 years of professional work experience Consideration under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be given to applicants who do not fully meet the above criteria but who have significant senior professional experience in a related field such as engineering, construction, operations and software development. All applicants are required to complete a supplementary form. Participants will be selected on the basis of the information supplied in their application and supplementary information. The University reserve the right to interview applicants to help make determinations. For Applicants with Qualifications Completed Outside of Ireland Applicants must meet the required entry academic grade, equivalent to Irish requirements.
