Course Description
Public Speaking - LIVE and ZOOM - January-February 2025
CLASS SIZE LIMITED TO ONLY 8 STUDENT MAXIMUM FOR BEST LEARNING PRACTICE.
COVID-19: LIVE classes will have COVID-19 precautions in place such as santizing, ventilation, and a HEPA Air Filter will be in the studio class. We will be keeping a SMALL CLASS SIZE of only 8 students in order to maintain the highest standard of tutoring and full creative interaction and engagement.
DESCRIPTION:
Sharing your ideas with others can be challenging for some people.
Even those with experience may seek to improve the quality of their content for maximum impact, or to manage nervous tension. Whether it is for a work presentation, a sales pitch, a job interview, a wedding speech, an academic paper or for personal development – our courses will give you the specific tools that you need and a “safe” place to practice them.
In this practical interactive course, students will be given the techniques and opportunity to engage with their audience with confidence and poise, increase vocal resonance, manage nervous tension, and develop dynamic and memorable content. Guidance will be given on the use of notes and visual aids. Every class will include voice, breath, and physical techniques to improve clarity in speaking. Additionally, we will cover the specific techniques for On-Camera presentations.
Each week you can expect to prepare and deliver a small presentation (5 min). The focus each week will change, so that you have the option to create a new presentation each week, or to develop and refine one presentation. The third class will be held on ZOOM in order to practice online delivery.
ZOOM access is required for ONE class during this course:
Based on over a year of us working on creative projects on ZOOM (feature films, new plays, new media, and one-to-one coaching), we have found the MOST creative, interactive, engaging and inspiring way to work in SMALL groups.
There will be constant interaction and group engagement.
