How it works

There are many different ways you can start your training. Firstly, you can find courses that award certifications under the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC). Alternatively, you can also do course that earn you a Higher Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness.

You will also learn to create effective programmes for different levels of fitness and goals. In addition, you will learn and practice techniques for strength training, conditioning and high impact training.

After your training you will understand the value of technique and how doing the exercise correctly reduces the risk of injury. Making sure clients are safe is important for any fitness programme.

Some courses also offer certifications in speciality classes like kettlebell, cycle studio, personal training and/or suspension training.

Leisure Management & Fitness Instructor

These courses teach the skills for managing fitness training and leisure facilities. As a manager, you will motivate clients and your staff as well as promote a safe, pleasant and successful facility. These courses may also include training on business planning as well as financial management.

Advanced Fitness Specialist

These courses teach take your fitness instructor training to the next level. You could specialise in various areas of teaching fitness like strength training and conditioning, Pilates or spinning.

Group Fitness Instructor Training

Group instructors need special skills, such as how to structure a workout, and communicating with a group.
